Located less than a minute’s walk from Belltown Spine & Wellness, Amber Borgomainerio’s studio, Breathe Hot Yoga, uses repetitive movement and heat as a unique and individualized way to rehabilitate and strengthen the spine. “...The style of yoga that we do here at Breathe is so complementary to chiropractic, and taking care of the spine, as all of our yoga classes are centered around working with the spine specifically.
In yoga philosophy, that’s the main channel of energy which goes up through the body, and even in Taoism it is considered the Tree of Life” says Amber on the correlation between spinal wellness and practicing Yoga. “So by taking care of your spine, you essentially are taking care of your whole body, so I think it aligns perfectly with chiropractic.” Amber mentioned that she has been a patient of Dr. Scott’s for many years, and added that the combination of both hot yoga and chiropractic adjustments can lead to longer periods of stable health: “I find that the spinal manipulations are great! And then you combine that with the yoga, and the yoga helps seal it in because it helps to strengthen the muscles around the spine, so you’re more likely to hold your adjustments longer. We basically move the spine in every direction in class, so it’s great for keeping your spine aligned and healthy.”
Amber spoke about her love for the Belltown community and its accessibility to good food and good health care. Because the studio has been located on 4th Ave since 2010, the vicinity and the relationship between spinal adjustments at Belltown Spine & Wellness and Breathe Hot Yoga are indispensable to Amber’s personal health. “I’ve been getting chiropractic work for 20 years. Dr. Scott is part of my team of professionals that I go to when my body is out of whack. He’s holistic, he’s progressive, he uses a lot of different therapies. All of our classes are suitable for all levels of abilities. It’s a set routine of postures you do every class, so it’s great for people working to rehabilitate an injury because you know what’s coming, you know what you can do. And the nice thing is Dr. Scott is familiar with all the exercises that we do, and so is our Physical Therapist, which makes for a great triage of care.”
Whether recovering from an accident or wanting to be rid of chronic muscle pain from long days at the office, Amber and her team use infrared radiant heat to keep the spine loose and flexible; perfect for getting the most out of your adjustments with the professionals at our clinic. This month, make the most out of Breathe Hot Yoga’s new member special, which offers 10 classes for just $25, with Belltown Spine and Wellness patients receiving their first class for free!
