This fall, Macy’s once again invites America to join forces in an effort to draw attention, heighten awareness and raise funds in the
“I am so proud of Macy’s long-time dedication to the breast cancer awareness movement, not only during the month of October, but throughout the year," said Martine Reardon, chief marketing officer for Macy’s. "Our ongoing support for this cause continues to provide wonderful opportunities for our various partners to join the fight -- from our vendors that design exclusive merchandise to employees who volunteer their time and, of course, to the customers who continue to give generously through shopping at our stores and in our dedicated 'Pink Shop.' In addition, we are pleased to partner once again with the Ralph Lauren brand in their quest to raise awareness and further the fight against breast cancer through the Pink Pony Fund.”
For the second year in a row, Macy’s has aligned with the Pink Pony Campaign, Ralph Lauren Corporation’s worldwide initiative in the fight against cancer, by offering a special collection of items at “Pink Pony” shops in 48 Macy’s locations across the country, as well as at macys.com/pink. Twenty-five percent of the purchase price of Pink Pony products sold in the United States will benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Polo Ralph Lauren Foundation for causes devoted to cancer awareness, education and research. In addition, from Oct. 1-18, Macy’s customers who show their support by purchasing the limited-edition Pink Pony Pin for $5 ($4 of which benefits the Pink Pony Fund) will receive a special discount up to 20 percent on a wide assortment of merchandise at all full-line Macy’s stores nationwide (with applied exclusions).
Macy’s will once again host the online “Pink Shop” featuring a wide variety of pink product from beloved designers and brands, and a visit to macys.com/pink will give customers another opportunity to fashionably join in the crusade against breast cancer. Coach, KitchenAid, The North Face, Wacoal, Waterford, and Under Armour along with exclusive product from Ideology and Style & Co., are just a few of the brands to support the cause by donating a portion of the sale of special pink merchandise to various organizations. One can also look good while doing good by purchasing dedicated cosmetic and fragrance items from brands such as Ahava, Bare Minerals, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Marc Jacobs and Origins. Visit Macy’s “Pink Shop” for additional details on the complete assortment of what’s pretty in pink in support of the cause.
According to the American Cancer Society, more than 200,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer (Stages I-IV) are diagnosed among women in the United States in a year, resulting in approximately 40,000 deaths. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer. Through various partnerships and joint efforts, Macy’s maintains a steadfast dedication to finding a cure. This year’s program is targeted to reaching customers in every aspect of their lives.
