YottaMark Inc. today announced that its ShopWell food nutrition app has been enhanced with a slate of exciting new features to help shoppers
In this recent major upgrade, the app now features weekly healthy-eating advice from Registered Dietitians, personalized to the user's dietary goals.
"US retailers are increasingly looking to Registered Dietitians for help as shoppers want personalized nutrition information and advice to make healthy choices" said Charlie Piper, CEO of YottaMark. "The new ShopWell Quick Tips feature makes it incredibly easy to reach shoppers with timely, helpful, personalized advice wherever they are – in the aisle or in the kitchen."
In response to member feedback, the ShopWell scoring algorithm has also been enhanced to include support for shoppers with vegetarian and vegan diets, and individuals trying to avoid corn. Allergic reactions to corn are complex and not extensively studied to date, but can be serious. Corn proteins can be found in a wide variety of packaged foods. With ShopWell, individuals with a corn allergy or intolerance can shop more confidently and can use the app to find corn-free substitutes that fit their personal needs.
"Shopping for groceries can often be a challenging and sometimes frustrating experience. With so many products to choose from how do you know which ones are healthy choices for you? Building on the expertise of Registered Dietitians, ShopWell helps users select foods that are strong matches for their health goals or alerts them to products that contain allergens." said ShopWell's Registered Dietitian, Lara Felton, RDN.
ShopWell continues on its mission to be the Registered Dietitian in your purse or pocket. The addition of new profiles and allergies demonstrates the company's commitment to 'making the world a better place to eat'.
