Dr. Julie Sutton
is a graduate of Bastyr University where she
received her doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Masters of
Acupuncture. Prior to completing her
degrees at Bastyr, Julie studied Psychology and Biology at the University of Minnesota, where she was awarded both
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees, respectively.
After her undergraduate studies, Julie worked
as a psychiatric assistant at FairviewUniversityHospital
that has gained her extensive counseling experience. Additionally, Julie conducted pain research
at the University Minnesota and was published in the journal Neuroscience.
Understanding the many facets to health and disease, Julie went on to pursue
her dream of becoming a physician in order to create a holistic wellness
program encompassing the inherent healing properties of nature, prevention and education.
Her desire to promote
wellness through lifestyle changes has inspired her to receive certification as
a Health/Fitness Instructor (ACSM) and Strength and Conditioning Specialist
(NSCA).Julie is licensed both as a
primary care physician and acupuncturist in the state of Washington.She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians,
National Strength & Conditioning Association and Diplomate of Acupuncture
through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine.Dr. Sutton’s areas of
specialty include, women’s health, endocrinology, weight management, nutrition,
exercise and pain management.
